Location: North East or Yorkshire based, with travel to our Darlington, Peterlee and Huddersfield locations.

We’re looking for an experienced Group Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our Group Compliance team and play a key role in helping ZIGUP and its businesses effectively manage compliance risk.

Reporting to the Group Head of Compliance, you'll work closely with stakeholders across our businesses, providing practical advice, constructive challenge and regulatory expertise.

From Consumer Duty and conduct risk to financial crime, operational resilience and the evolving governance of AI, this is a varied role with the opportunity to influence how compliance is embedded across a large and diverse Group.

You'll be someone who can interpret regulation and translate it into clear, proportionate and commercially pragmatic guidance, while maintaining the independence and judgement needed to ensure we continue to deliver good outcomes for our customers.

What will you be doing?

Providing practical compliance, conduct risk and Consumer Duty advice to businesses across ZIGUP, helping to embed a strong compliance culture and deliver good customer outcomes.

Identifying and assessing regulatory and conduct risks, using compliance monitoring, assurance activities and customer outcome analysis to identify emerging risks and areas for improvement.

Undertaking regulatory horizon scanning, assessing upcoming developments and helping stakeholders understand and prepare for changes that may impact their business.

Providing oversight and guidance across key areas including financial crime, operational resilience and the evolving governance of AI.

Supporting FCA regulatory reporting and maintaining key regulatory and governance documentation, including SMCR requirements.

Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across the Group, providing pragmatic advice and constructive challenge to ensure regulatory requirements are appropriately considered in business activities, products, services and customer journeys.

About You

  • Strong experience within a regulatory compliance or conduct risk environment, with a good working knowledge of the FCA Handbook, including SYSC, COCON, ICOBS, CMCOB, PROD, CONC and Consumer Duty.
  • An understanding of wider regulatory requirements, including Operational Resilience, financial crime and data protection.
  • The ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, practical and proportionate advice.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with strong analytical skills, sound judgement and attention to detail.
