Here at GXO Peterborough, we are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team supporting our customer, M&S. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with start time of 02:00 to 06:00, contracted to 45 hours per week.

Pay, benefits and more:

  • An hourly rate of £17.43, that is an annual salary of £45,786.20
  • A 15% shift premium, for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00
  • Overtime paid at time and a half (applicable after 45 hours)

What you will do on a typical day:

  • Carry out a mix of single and multidrop deliveries (typically up to 2 drops per shift) across England and Wales, collecting returns and equipment from stores as required, with no nights out
  • Handle totes, rails and occasional pallets, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
  • Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time
