Our client, a reputable and customer-focused automotive workshop in Lymington, Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their busy team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Vehicle Technician dedicated to delivering high-quality workmanship and accurate diagnostics. The Vehicle Technician role involves servicing a variety of makes and models, ensuring safety and roadworthiness for local drivers. The workshop boasts nearly 100 years of combined motor industry experience, offering a supportive environment committed to excellence.

Basic salary: up to £40,000

Overtime: paid at time and a half

Bonus scheme: with realistic monthly earnings around £300-£400, with potential for further increase

Holidays: 20 days holiday plus your birthday off, Christmas shutdown of 3 to 5 days, dependent on the calendar, with no deduction from holiday allowance, 8 statutory bank holidays

Duties:

  • Perform vehicle servicing across a broad range of makes and models, ensuring work is completed to a high standard
  • Complete Visual Health Checks (VHC) with accurate checks and recording
  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair faults, maintaining precise workmanship
  • Execute brake and suspension repairs, including replacements and maintenance
  • Maintain efficient workshop operations in a fast-paced environment, supporting cars and vans
  • Contribute to a professional and honest workshop culture by highlighting your strengths and collaborating effectively

Requirements:

  • Proven workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician with confidence in service and repair work
  • Ability to complete VHC inspections competently
  • Skilled in brake and suspension work
  • Experience working on mainstream vehicles; familiarity with vans is advantageous
  • MOT certification or experience is desirable; MOT-trained Vehicle Technicians can access top salary levels
  • Reliable and practical attitude, with the ability to communicate clearly about your skills and limitations
