Job Ref JC WL – Female (*GOR) Part time Personal Assistants for 19-year-old Autistic Adult £14.81 ph
Hours: On average 10 hours per week – with opportunities for flexible additional hours.
Job is based in Seafield, West Lothian.
Autistic young non-binary (they/them) adult who loves getting out and about, spending time with animals, doing creative activities, music, and just generally having fun, is looking for a Personal Assistant to help with some of the challenges that they face due to current health conditions and disabilities.
Looking for some assistance with personal care, medication, getting around (including use of a wheelchair), help around the house (including light domestic care) and support to engage in activities at home and in the community including attending college one day a week.
We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding and reliable. It’s important that the personal assistant is calm but also has fun. We need someone who is able to build a trusting and consistent relationship with appropriate boundaries and respect their communication preferences and sensory needs at all times.
We already have carers that come in the morning and nighttime to help me get out of bed and ready for bed. This role would be covering the time in between those visits.
