We are seeking highly motivated individuals who like to work in a fast paced environment, to join our busy 24 /7 Patient Flow Team , to assist in the day to day operational management of patient flow across the Trust, which covers two sites .

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with clinical and operational teams to facilitate the optimal use of beds across the organisation.

The post demands excellent communication skills , as it involves internal and external reporting to be completed pre and post operational capacity meetings, and excellent customer care service skills.

Flexibility and an ability to adapt to change quickly is essential to the role, as is the ability to perform in a high pressure environment.

The post involves high level of calls, administration duties , internal and external reporting , booking patient transport and use of hospital IT systems, therefore ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.

The post holder will be required to work on a rotational basis including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Hours cover early, late and night shifts
  • Comply with Bed Management protocols
  • Converse directly with General Practitioners regarding the admission of patients and organise emergency transport via ambulance control when required.
  • Provide accurate and concise information for bed meetings (5 scheduled throughout the day).
  • Provide daily sitrep to information team
  • Collate data from information team and WIC and submit sitrep to NHS England weekends/Bank Holidays and OOH.
  • Independently work within the admission areas, monitoring patient flow.
  • Liaise with ward staff and gather concise information regarding actual or potential discharges, next day discharges, internal hospital delays and potential outliers.
  • Liaise closely with the Infection Control Team regarding the infection status of the hospitaland any outbreaks in the community.
  • Update the Capacity Management System throughout the day and night.
  • Assist in achieving the 4-hour target in A&E
  • Effectively manage all telephone enquiries.
  • Communicate with Consultants and Bed Managements at other trusts regarding safeand timely transfers.
  • Responsible for the collation and continual update of Bed Managements statistics.
  • Photocopy forms and documentation for department.
  • Demonstrate own duties and provide On-The-Job Training to new members of staff.
