Hays are working with a well-established international business to recruit an Accounts & Admin Assistant for a varied, part-time role within a small and collaborative office-based team.
The organisation operates within a specialist technical sector and supports partners and stakeholders across international markets.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys finance administration, office coordination and varied day-to-day support.
You will assist with the smooth running of the office and support accounting, administrative and operational processes across the business.
- Your new role
- You will support the accounts function and wider office with a broad range of responsibilities
- Raising and processing purchase and sales invoices, with careful attention to VAT treatment and foreign invoices.
- Checking and allocating purchase invoices against the appropriate job.
- Credit control and bank reconciliation.
- Processing company credit card bills and staff cash expenses.
- Raising purchase orders and sending order confirmations as required.
- Supporting shipping documentation and liaising with nominated clearing agents.
- Assisting with petty cash, stock management and company reporting.
- Handling incoming emails and telephone calls professionally.
- Carrying out general administration, database management and wider support tasks as required.
- What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be organised, efficient and confident working in a varied role where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
You will be comfortable working with figures, able to follow tasks through to completion and willing to support different areas of a small team.
You will also bring
- Experience working with foreign currencies, particularly EUR.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using financial software such as Sage Line 50 or similar.
- Good analytical ability and confidence working with numbers.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
- A high level of accuracy and a level-headed, focused approach.
- A good understanding of the process from purchase order registration through to completion and invoicing.
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to help with general office tasks.

This is a part-time, office-based role offering 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9.30am.
The salary is £30,000 FTE, pro rata for the hours worked, with a salary review after a six-month probationary period.
You will also receive 25 days' annual leave plus public holidays, pro rata, auto-enrolment pension where applicable at 4% employer and 4% employee contribution, and the option to carry over up to five days' unused holiday.
