An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and highly regarded organisation in Oxfordshire.
This is a broad and influential role where you will work closely with senior leadership to provide financial insight, support strategic decision-making and ensure the continued effective management of resources.

Your new role
As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning process.
- Produce monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis.
- Support senior leaders with financial decision-making and budget management.
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective action where required.
- Provide regular financial information and insight to stakeholders across the organisation.
- Oversee core finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, reconciliations and expenses.
- Support payroll processes and monitor staffing costs against budget.
- Complete month-end procedures including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain strong financial controls, compliance and governance processes.
- Manage and develop a small finance team while driving continuous improvement across systems and procedures.
- Support audit requirements and act as a key contact for finance-related enquiries.
- What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate, you will need
- Previous experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and accounting best practice.
- Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
- The ability to analyse complex financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience leading or supporting finance teams would be advantageous.
- Experience within education, not-for-profit or other publicly funded environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
