You will be joining a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation delivering major UK projects across transport, utilities and the built environment. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and heritage protection, the business works closely with clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure archaeological and cultural heritage obligations are met throughout the project life cycle.
Your new role
As an Archaeological Clerk of Works (ACoW), you will support the planning and delivery of archaeological fieldwork across major infrastructure projects. Working closely with construction teams, archaeological contractors and key stakeholders, you will monitor site activities, ensure compliance with heritage requirements, undertake site inspections, and provide technical advice to support project delivery. You will also contribute to reporting, stakeholder engagement, health and safety initiatives, and the management of archaeological risks and opportunities.
You will be required to work 40 hours per week,
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Archaeology or a relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years' archaeological fieldwork experience
- Strong understanding of UK heritage legislation and planning policy
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- CSCS Card (Academically or Professionally Qualified Person)
- SSSTS
- Full UK Driving Licence
- MCIFA (or working towards)
- Experience producing technical reports and project updates
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
