An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic individual with a background in the leisure or service industry to join the University of Aberdeen’s Sport and Exercise Team (SET). The SET is a dynamic team of professional services staff who support the delivery of student sport and active health through a range of initiatives, club sport, and performance programmes. Activities include facilities management, performance coaching, strength and conditioning, club development, sports bursaries and scholarships, and active health initiatives. The SET works collaboratively with the Students’ Union, Aberdeen Sports Village, and various national governing bodies to develop a range of sport and active health opportunities for staff, students, and the local community.
Working closely with the Students’ Union, the successful postholder will assist in facilities operations, health and safety, and customer care. Main duties include:
- Supervising and coordinating a team of staff to facilitate sports facility access
- Undertaking health and safety responsibilities, including emergency first aid
- Opening and securing facilities in alignment with operating hours
- Customer care to students and community users
- Basic administrative and operational tasks (e.g. implementing a staff rota, set up of equipment)
You will be highly motivated and passionate about sport with a genuine interest in enhancing the student experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ideally with experience of health and safety in a sports and leisure environment.
The Operations Supervisor is a full-time post. Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £26,565 - £27,920 with placement according to qualifications and experience.
