The Operational Lead has responsibility for the day-to-day clinical and operational management of Neighbourhood Core Community Services and the Community Treatment Unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing workload allocation and service capacity.
  • Providing professional leadership.
  • Development of data and quality information.
  • Line managing and supporting Band 7 Community Practitioner Leads across Community and District Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy.
  • Working closely with the Head of Clinical Service, supporting the delivery of evidence-based community healthcare services operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will be familiar with the national agenda to modernise clinical careers and to translate the organisational clinical strategy to increase community healthcare provision into local practice, ensuring the workforce has the skills and competence that ensures the delivery of a service that meets the requirements set out within the service specification. The role is approximately 20% clinical and there is an essential requirement for the postholder to hold a current professional registration as either a Registered Adults Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist.

Overseeing workforce and capacity planning, service performance, and quality improvement, while providing professional leadership to multidisciplinary teams. Working closely with Primary Care Networks, GP practices and partner organisations, you will support service transformation and delivery of community healthcare seven days a week.

This role combines operational leadership with clinical practice (approximately 20% clinical), offering the opportunity to influence service development, implement change and improve outcomes for patients and staff. You will be responsible for operational and clinical management of neighbourhood community services, including workload allocation, capacity planning, leadership and service performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Line management of Community Practitioner Leads
  • Leading quality and governance activities
  • Managing resources and budgets
