  • Job Purpose

The Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprentice will work under the supervision of registered pharmacy professionals while completing the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

The apprentice will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician, supporting the safe and effective supply of medicines and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the safe preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines under supervision.
  • Accurately receive, process, and assemble prescriptions following standard operating procedures.
  • Support stock management, including ordering, receiving, rotating, and checking pharmaceutical products.
  • Maintain accurate records using pharmacy computer systems.
  • Participate in the storage and disposal of medicines in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Support the delivery of pharmacy services, including health promotion initiatives where appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation.
  • Follow all health and safety, infection prevention, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Report incidents, errors, or concerns in accordance with organisational policies.
  • Complete all apprenticeship learning activities, including coursework, assessments, and workplace evidence within agreed

Person Specification

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics or willingness to work towards these.
