Oldham Council is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity to join our dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Hub. Following recent service developments, we are entering a forward-thinking phase focused on delivering safe, effective, and person-centred responses under the Mental Health Act.

The Oldham AMHP Hub is led by a committed AMHP Lead/Manager and includes a skilled team of qualified AMHPs, all working to uphold the AMHP Practice Standards, ensure robust decision-making, and provide high-quality interventions for people experiencing mental health crisis.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated professionals who are passionate about safeguarding the rights, wishes, and wellbeing of individuals. Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the provision of quality and timely assessments working within legal frameworks.
  • Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken and carry out required administrative procedures.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of services and new ideas by sharing knowledge about theory, skills and practice.
  • Support colleagues undertaking their AMHP training.

Key Requirements:

  • Professional Qualification and registered with a professional body including current AMHP Approval status.
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice, national guidance & government initiatives connected with service delivery in Mental Health.
  • Experience of prioritising own workload, setting objectives & maintaining accurate records.
