- Job Summary
The Nursing Associate will work as part of the General Practice nursing team, supporting the Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), GPs, and wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
The post holder will deliver a range of clinical and health promotion activities within their scope of practice, contributing to the assessment, monitoring, and treatment of patients.
They will support patients to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing while promoting a positive patient experience.
The Nursing Associate will work under the direction and supervision of registered healthcare professionals, whilst being accountable for their own practice in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
The post holder will
- Undertake a range of delegated clinical procedures within their scope of practice and competence.
- Record and monitor physiological measurements including: Blood pressure Pulse Temperature Respiratory rate Height and weight BMI
- Undertake ECG recordings.
- Carry out wound care and simple dressings.
- Support patients with long-term condition monitoring as directed by the nursing team.
- Administer vaccinations and immunisations where appropriately trained and competent.
- Support national screening and health promotion programmes.
- Recognise changes in a patient's condition and escalation concerns appropriately.
- Assist in maintaining safe clinical environments and infection prevention and control standards.
- Patient Care

- Provide health promotion and lifestyle advice in line with practice protocols.
