Our Team works with people aged 14-65 years who are either experiencing psychosis for the first time or at risk of developing psychosis. We cover North Warwickshire & Rugby. Our office base is in Nuneaton. We use a clinic in Rugby for patients living there, but where possible you will see people at their home or in other community locations.

To be considered for this role you MUST have significant experience of working with people with complex and significant mental health difficulties. Experience of working with psychosis would be highly preferable. You must have a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle that you can use for work. You must have a valid right to work in the UK. This position will not be considered for sponsorship. Anyone who does not have these essential criteria will not be shortlisted.

You will need strong communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. In addition to delivering practical interventions, some knowledge and understanding of basic cognitive behavioural approaches would be beneficial. The willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills is vital. An ability to manage difficult situations is needed, but you will be supported throughout your time with the team, and we will invest time and energy in developing your support worker skills. Demonstrating personal resilience and a sense of humour is essential within our supportive and innovative team.

Experiencing psychosis for the first time can have a detrimental impact on aspects of a person's life, including their job/education, relationships, and daily functioning. You will be working alongside nurses, occupational therapists, and other disciplines to support people within their recovery to get back to a good level of functioning.

At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond. We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement which increases during your time with us
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities, including apprenticeship frameworks, distance learning, internal training, coaching and mentoring, and much more
  • Salary sacrifice schemes for lease car/vehicle, Cycle to Work, home and electronics, gym membership and more
  • Discounts with a range of retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues through our Employee Assistance Programme and NHS discount schemes
  • Wellbeing support, including an in-house counselling service, external helpline and more
  • Staff networks and support groups

We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect. You will deliver a range of time-limited, evidence-based recovery-focused interventions. You will be given the opportunity to build your skills and confidence in working with individuals and within group settings in order to facilitate personal recovery, social inclusion and promote independence. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicating with a wide variety of clients, professionals, partners and agencies.
