Nuclear Medicine Technologist | Barts Health NHS Trust

The Nuclear Medicine department is looking to recruit a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join one of the country's largest NHS Trusts, Barts Health NHS Trust. Our service spans three sites - St Bartholomew's Hospital, Royal London Hospital, and Whipps Cross University Hospital - and comprises 4 SPECT-CT systems, 1 Gamma Camera, and a state-of-the-art GE Discovery PET-CT. The Trust also runs a major GFR service for the oncology department, a therapy service, and a large in-house Radiopharmacy department. There are currently plans underway to add a second PET-CT system to complement the existing one and expand our radionuclide therapy service. Additionally, we operate a highly active Rubidium cardiac service, one of the busiest in the country.

This is a 1-year fixed-term post at 0.58 WTE (21 hours 45 minutes per week), working Wednesday to Friday, with shifts falling between 08:00 and 20:00 according to service needs. The department is well led by senior managers and well supported by Medical Physics and Nuclear Medicine Physicians who provide guidance and support. Successful candidates will be supported in their career path by providing educational opportunities, sponsorships to conferences and seminars.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated professionals to work across all of their main sites at Barts. To be eligible for these positions, you will need:

• At least 1 year NHS experience.
• Eligible or Undergoing Pg Dip in Nuclear Medicine or BSc Radiography or DCR or equivalent qualification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or PG Dip in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to develop own skills and provide information to others to help their development.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workload.
• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to rotate across 3 different Hospitals within the Trust.

Candidates are expected to rotate through various Nuclear medicine/PET CT within the trust that are located at various places in and around London. There will be occasional opportunities to work on Saturday and Sunday on a rotational basis and this work is voluntary.
