Trainee Bus Drivers – Earn While You Learn from £14.22 per hour, rising to £14.61 after six months | Nottingham

The role

Nottingham City Transport is looking for friendly, reliable people to join our team as Trainee Bus Drivers.

You do not need any previous bus driving experience. Our award-winning Training Team will teach you everything you need to know, and you will be paid from your first day.

Your training begins with working towards your PCV licence and CPC.

You will then learn local routes, become familiar with our vehicles, use ticket machines and develop the skills needed to support every passenger.

Once you begin driving in service, an experienced driver will work alongside you for your first two weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive passengers safely and comfortably around Nottingham
  • Offer a warm welcome and excellent customer service
  • Follow routes, timetables and company procedures
  • Operate ticketing equipment accurately
  • Support passengers who may need extra assistance
  • Work from Parliament Street or Trent Bridge garage when required

Our services run seven days a week, from early mornings through to late nights.

You will work five days per week, including some weekends, with 39 guaranteed hours.

Most shifts last between seven and nine hours, and optional overtime is available.
