Paediatric Nurse – HDU/PICU Experience – Nottingham
Optimum Care (Nottm) Ltd is recruiting an experienced Paediatric Nurse / Children’s Nurse with HDU or PICU experience to provide specialist one-to-one care for a child with complex health needs in Nottingham.
This is a high-acuity community care role requiring a confident children’s nurse who is able to deliver safe, compassionate and clinically competent care outside the hospital environment while following the child’s individual care plan, clinical protocols and escalation procedures.
The successful nurse will work closely with the child, family, community children’s nursing team and other healthcare professionals to maintain the child’s safety, comfort, stability and quality of life.
Responsibilities may include monitoring the child’s clinical condition, recognising deterioration, administering prescribed medication, supporting nutrition and hydration, managing specialist equipment, carrying out delegated clinical interventions within competency, maintaining accurate clinical records and responding appropriately to emergencies.
The exact clinical duties will be based on the child’s assessed needs and care plan. Nurses will only undertake interventions for which they are appropriately trained, authorised and assessed as competent.
