MASH Coordinator in Nottingham

Co-ordination of services to contribute to the protection of adults, children and adults at risk. In your capacity as the coordinator, you will have day-to-day operational management responsibility for MASH Health within the Partnership, ensuring our positive relationships are sustained and developed. Working in partnership is a key element of this role and recognises how critical this approach is in all aspects of safeguarding.

Appropriate and relevant information is shared with partner agencies ensuring outcomes/decisions are clearly documented and demonstrate compliance with Caldicott Principles, using MASH Information Sharing Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

• To co-ordinate CityCare's contribution to County MASH Health.
• Co-ordinate CityCare's response to safeguarding within a multi-agency setting with a wide range of agencies.
• Analysis of all City health records, producing and presenting effective summaries, often complex information, in a clear and concise manner.
• The post holder will influence, negotiate, and respectfully challenge when there are disagreements or polarization.
• Support, direct and advocate for CityCare's staff within the MASH when issues arise.
• Provide and receive complex and sensitive information concerning patients' medical information.
• Work autonomously and organise and prioritise the workflow within the MASH, allocating accordingly.
• Use appropriate evidenced-based tools to assess the physical and emotional wellbeing of adults, babies, children, young people, and families.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, initiative, organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly in a multi-agency team setting.
• Ensure clear, accurate and up-to-date recording of information on SystmOne as per local record keeping policy.
• Work in partnership with adults, children, young people, and families and with local partners across the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children's Partnership, statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Access and participate in safeguarding supervision.
• Collate data and prepare reports monthly to support the Named Nurse/Head of Safeguarding.
• Actively encourage and support clinical staff to adopt a think family approach and consider the needs of dependents when providing care.
• Support and advise on the safeguarding incident, reporting and management process.
• Actively contribute to working groups and other relevant corporate and service delivery groups and committees to achieve positive outcomes in relation to Safeguarding.
• Advise, inform and escalate safeguarding concerns to their manager regarding all matters of safeguarding as appropriate.
• Report verbally and in writing any accidents, complaints, untoward incidents and near misses as per policy.
• Assist with the MARAC process and supporting CityCare's contribution to this function.

Communication:

• Ensure the team meets commissioned targets and understand key performance indicators and service delivery.
• Participate in research, audit, and public engagement activities to ensure appropriate, safe and evidence-based practice is maintained.
• Undertake mentorship, preceptorship, and clinical supervision where necessary.
• Contribute to the appraisal, development, and monitoring of performance of team members, induct and mentor staff and students.
• Attend essential, mandatory, and appropriate training courses and meetings, thus keeping professional development current.
• Ensure practice is evidence-based to maintain high quality, effective public health care.

Policies and Procedures:

• Support the Safeguarding Lead Professionals and the wider safeguarding community in the implementation of appropriate all safeguarding policies and procedures which are in line with local and national guidance.
• Support skill mix staff to assess their own work and give them clear and appropriate feedback.
• Contribute to effective working in a changing environment as services develop, and undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required within the remit of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for the role.

Training:

• Contribute to the co-ordination, delivery, and evaluation of the CityCare safeguarding training strategy and programme, in conjunction with the Safeguarding team, and Safeguarding Partners.
• Participate in the delivery of multi-agency training where appropriate.

Monitoring:

• Develop and co-ordinate systems of audit to monitor the agreed local and national policies and procedures, audits, and inspection to evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of safeguarding practice within CityCare.
• Assist with the collection of data for Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews and Incident investigations including producing chronologies.
• Support the implementation of recommendations from internal and external safeguarding reviews.
