Optimum Care (Nottm) Ltd is recruiting experienced and compassionate Enhanced Care Workers to support children and young people with complex health, physical and care needs in their own homes and community settings across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
This is a specialist care role supporting children and young people who may require a higher level of supervision and care than is normally provided through standard domiciliary care. Depending on the individual child or young person's assessed needs, support may include personal care, mobility and positioning, nutrition and hydration, medication support, monitoring of health and wellbeing, communication support and the use of specialist equipment.
Some packages may involve delegated healthcare or clinical-related tasks. Staff will only undertake these where the intervention is included within the child's individual care plan, appropriate delegation and authorisation are in place, and the worker has completed the required child-specific training and has been assessed as competent.
Enhanced Care Workers must be able to recognise changes or deterioration in a child's condition, follow individual emergency and escalation plans and seek appropriate clinical or emergency assistance when required.
The role also involves supporting the child's dignity, comfort, safety, development and independence and working closely with parents and carers, community children's nurses and other health, education and social-care professionals.
