Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a growing specialist manufacturing business in Tarvin for a Chemical Process Operator.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a STEM, engineering, chemistry or technical background who is looking to develop a long-term career within a highly skilled manufacturing environment.
Joining a friendly team of nine production professionals, you will receive full training in specialist processes and have genuine opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and responsibilities over time.
Your responsibilities will include
- Unpacking, inspecting, jigging and masking components before processing
- Removing processed parts, cleaning finished components and carrying out quality checks
- Assisting with the maintenance of chemical tanks, additives and filtration systems
- Supporting experienced technicians with day-to-day production activities
- Machining finished components and completing final inspections
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Following your initial training, you will be taught specialist duties including:
- Daily process and equipment checks
- Loading and unloading treatment tanks
- Preparing and maintaining chemical solutions
- p H testing and chemical analysis
- Monitoring production quality and maintaining process records
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- To be successful as a Chemical Process Operator, you will ideally have:
- An interest in engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, mechanical maintenance or other STEM-related subjects
- A practical and hands-on approach to work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new technical skills
Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, chemical processing, laboratory environments, quality inspection or technical operations would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided.
This role could suit candidates who have worked as a Production Operative, Process Technician, Manufacturing Operative, Engineering Technician, Technical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant or Mechanical Maintenance Assistant.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
- Alternative working patterns may be considered for candidates with the right skills and experience
- Weekend duties required once fully trained, typically one weekend in four
- Weekend work generally involves 2 to 5 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings
- Occasional Bank Holiday cover may be required
