Medacs Healthcare is working in partnership with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to recruit a Specialty Doctor in Urology to join a friendly, forward‑thinking department delivering high‑quality urological care. About the Role

As a Specialty Doctor in Urology, you will work closely with the Consultant Urologists and wider multidisciplinary team to deliver a comprehensive general urology service at QEH. You will contribute to inpatient care, outpatient clinics, emergency urology, and elective operating lists, helping to support service delivery and reduce waiting times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management of urology inpatients and outpatients for elective and emergency cases
  • Support outpatient clinics including LUTS, haematuria, prostate assessment, and follow‑up clinics
  • Assist in operating lists, including endoscopic and minor urological procedures
  • Participate in the urology on‑call rota (weekend on‑call expected as the service evolves)
  • Help reduce waiting lists across clinics and theatres
  • Manage urological emergencies such as torsion, obstructed kidneys, and acute retention

What We're Looking For

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Minimum 4 years' postgraduate training, including at least 2 years in Urology
  • Experience managing inpatient and outpatient urological conditions
  • Competency in minor urological procedures including flexible cystoscopy
  • Evidence of supervising or training junior doctors
  • Minimum 1 year of UK experience
  • ALS (or willingness to obtain within a grace period)
  • Interest in developing a subspecialty area
  • Experience in teaching, audit, or service development
