A leading civil engineering contractor is delivering a major highways improvement scheme in Norfolk. The project includes significant earthworks, drainage, highway construction and associated infrastructure works aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing congestion and enhancing journey reliability on a key section of the strategic road network.
Your new role
As Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a section of earthworks, drainage and highways works from planning through to delivery. Key duties will include:
- Managing and coordinating site engineering activities
- Leading and mentoring Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers
- Reviewing drawings and raising technical queries
- Producing lookahead programmes and monitoring progress
- Managing temporary works requirements
- Producing ITPs and quality documentation
- Maintaining accurate site records and supporting commercial activities
- Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are followed
- Working closely with subcontractors, designers and client representatives
- Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects
- Strong background in earthworks, drainage and general civil engineering works
- Knowledge of temporary works, construction sequencing and programme management
- Ability to manage and develop junior engineering staff
- SMSTS and relevant Health & Safety training
- Valid CSCS Card
