We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Clerical Officer/Typist to join our Paediatric Administration Team within Surgery and NICU. This is a rewarding opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality care for children and their families.

Working in a busy and fast-paced environment, you will provide accurate typing and administrative support to clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload effectively. We are seeking someone who is adaptable, proactive and keen to learn, with strong communication skills and a compassionate approach. The role can involve dealing with sensitive situations, so professionalism and empathy are essential.

As a Clerical Officer/Typist, you will provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the Paediatric Service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Typing clinic letters in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prioritising workload with the support from the Medical Secretaries and Admin Manager.
  • Updating RTT in accordance with Trust guidelines.
  • Assisting the Administration and Clerical team with data management utilising PAS and other departmental patient databases.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and keyboard skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload within a busy environment. You should be a confident communicator, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to supporting the service.

The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of the department and support the delivery of high-quality care for children and their families.
