About You: This is more than a job, it's a chance to be the person who helps change a young person's story. As our Youth Mentor at Abbeyfield School, you'll build trusted relationships with students, families, pastoral teams and external agencies, supporting young people to overcome challenges, rediscover their confidence and believe in their potential. Through one-to-one mentoring, small group interventions and personalised support plans, you'll help students improve attendance, engagement, wellbeing and personal development, while developing the resilience, self-esteem and life skills they need to succeed. Every conversation, every breakthrough and every success will be an opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact on a young person's future.
Our Ideal candidate will have:
- Strong communication and literacy skills: with English and Maths qualifications at GCSE Grade 3 (or equivalent) or above.
- Youth support: experience supporting children or young people.
- An understanding of the challenges young people face: with the ability to recognise and respond to barriers to learning, engagement and wellbeing.
