Would you like to work for a growing local business, that has the job security of being part of a multi-billion-pound global manufacturer, at their flagship UK site? They are looking for an experienced Shift Manager to lead the operation, drive improvements and develop various teams.
Role & Responsibilities of the Shift Manager:
- Working closely with the other Shift Managers, leading a team of X3 team leaders & X40 staff
- When working on the night shift, be the most senior person on site
- Carry out shift handovers, floor walks speaking to team members and team leaders
- Monitor production plans, overlook reports, KPi performance management
- Training and performance management of team leaders
- Manage factory workflow, planning, identify areas of improvement, maximise output
- Work closely with engineering, safety, quality, sales & planning teams
Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be a Shift Manager:
- Proactive person - leading from the shopfloor
- Must have worked in a busy manufacturing operation previously
- Managed a similar size team / structure
- Able to demonstrate solid leadership skills and ownership
- Target and results driven person
- Strong decision making skills - able to make things happen strategically when on night shift
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing - 5S, Kaizen, RCA
