Commercial Vehicle Technician Opportunity – Night Shifts Available

Our client, a reputable and longstanding commercial vehicle specialist with multiple sites across the UK, is seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their team in Newcastle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled technicians looking for night shift work, offering competitive pay rates and development prospects.

  • Basic salary of up to £48,877 for night shifts; up to £41,769 for day shifts
  • Optional overtime to maximise earnings

Duties of the Commercial Vehicle Technician

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of commercial vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and present vehicles for MOT inspection
  • Carry out fault diagnosis using advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Perform general mechanical and electrical repairs as a Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Conduct offsite breakdown attendance when required
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining vehicle roadworthiness and safety
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and best working practices

Requirements

  • Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle or HGV Technician
  • MOT licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work to high standards and efficiently in a team environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Own set of tools
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Can-do attitude with a desire to develop skills and knowledge
  • Good understanding of health and safety policies
