The post holder as a Band 7 Non-medical Prescriber will deliver Non-medical prescribing interventions for the Neuro Developmental Disorders (NDD) Service in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington.
The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team working in predominantly Secondary Care settings with service users who have been assessed as having ADHD.

- Clinical
- To offer non-medical prescribing services to service users in with mental health conditions, specialising in those with ADHD.
- To provide and maintain accurate records.
- To ensure that Clinical Governance targets are met in relation to prescribing and other specialist areas of practice.
- To provide cover for clinics in the event of any staff planned/unplanned leave.
- To participate in clinical audits, trials and research and take a role in the monitoring of service quality.
- To access clinical supervision in accordance with Trust Policy.
- To provide Clinical Supervision to Nurses and other staff.
- To be proactive in the development and evaluation of further service development initiatives and service policy relevant to area of expertise.
- To be proactive in providing specialist input into the NDD service.
- To initiate, develop and use innovative strategies where appropriate to meet client needs.
- To be involved in the development and implementation of strategies to educate other multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure that they are able to provide advice and support for clients.
- To act independently and organise own workload to best meet service aims.
- To review and update relevant protocols and guidelines to ensure clinically effective, evidence based practice.
- As part of MDT in the service, to contribute to the development of the NDD service
- To act as an advisor in the development of services as appropriate to role.
This is an exciting time to join our Neuro Developmental Disorders Team as we expand to cover the five North Central London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield & Haringey for Autism.
Our ADHD services covers the North Central London Boroughs of Camden, Islington.
With newly increased funding for both our Autism and ADHD services, we aim to improve the service we provide and decrease wait times.
The Trust provides excellent opportunities for continued professional development (CPD), including an extensive programme of in-house CPD. CPD is encouraged and supported.
The post holder will work as part of the MDT, including medical staff, to prescribe medications for the treatment of ADHD.
The post holder will be a Non-medical Prescriber and have specialist knowledge and be able to provide advice to GPs, Non-medical prescribers, other relevant professionals and service users on mental health medications, including those for ADHD.
The post holder will contribute to governance and audit, ensuring that service delivery focuses on the quality agenda and that dignity, privacy and respect is afforded at all times to service users.
