We are currently recruiting an experienced Optical Glazer / Fitter to join a busy production team in Birmingham on a temporary assignment of at least 2 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in optical glazing, fitting, edging, rimless work, and final inspection to work within a fast-paced environment focused on quality and customer service. The role supports overnight production activities, prioritising urgent orders and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the shift.

10:00pm to 6:00am
Monday to Friday
Minimum 2-month assignment
Night Shift Rate: £20.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Glazing and fitting lenses to customer specifications.
- Carrying out edging, blocking, mounting, and frame assembly.
- Performing rimless glazing and specialist fitting work.
- Reading and interpreting prescriptions and frame specifications accurately.
- Completing final inspections to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
- Prioritising urgent work-in-progress and customer orders.
- Maintaining productivity targets while adhering to health and safety procedures.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Strong experience within an optical glazing or laboratory environment.
- Proven skills in glazing, fitting, edging, and lens assembly.
- Experience with rimless spectacles.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- The ability to work independently on a night shift.
- A proactive approach to workload management and problem-solving.
