Female Personal Care Assistant for a lady who has multiple complex needs

Female Personal Care Assistant for a lady who has multiple complex needs, non verbal communication, epilepsy, double incontinence and is paraplegic.

The lady lives in Newton Aycliffe.

The role will be part of a two person care team at all times.

Hours

Saturday and Sunday Night shift 11.00pm till 8.00am.

Flexibility is required to cover Carer's holidays and respite cover for parents.

  • Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
  • Time and a half for Saturday & Sunday Shifts
  • Holiday entitlement 5.6 weeks pro rata
  • Pension scheme available

Duties

  • All personal hygiene, ensuring cleanliness and skin care at all times, necessitating moving to the shower bed prior to showering.
  • Bowel management, requiring daily suppositories.
  • Continual monitoring of the client’s body position and clothing to ensure skin integrity.
  • Moving from bed to wheelchair and vice versa using powered ceiling hoist.
  • Food preparation and meal time supervision.
  • Administration of all medication in line with prescriptions.
  • Administration of epilepsy rescue medication when needed.
  • Aid with the Nippy cough assist machine 4 times per day.

You will be part of a two person team at all times.

Training will be given on all equipment and processes.

Current driving licence required

An Enhanced DBS will be required prior to commencement of employment.
