About the Role: The Healthcare Support Worker / Clinical Assistant (HCSW/CA) role involves supporting registered and non-registered healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. Your role will include:
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Performing basic clinical observations (e.g. blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations) when required.
- Supporting patient mobility and the manual handling of patients using appropriate equipment such as hoists, slide sheets, and walking aids.
- Assisting with clinical procedures under supervision and monitoring patients’ conditions, reporting any concerns to qualified staff.
- Providing emotional support, maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect, and promoting equality, person-centred care, and a clean, safe environment.
- Maintaining accurate records and handling information in line with confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding responsibilities, including recognising and reporting risks.
- Following infection prevention and control procedures, using PPE appropriately, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and reporting hazards or incidents.
- Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, participating in handovers, and contributing to high standards of care with professionalism and ongoing development.
