The Isle of Wight Council is looking for a dedicated and proactive Homelessness Reduction Officer to join our Housing Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with people at some of the most challenging points in their lives, helping them to keep their homes wherever possible and supporting them to explore realistic housing options when homelessness cannot be prevented.

As a Homelessness Reduction Officer, you will be at the forefront of the council's homelessness prevention service. You will assess households' circumstances, provide tailored housing advice, develop Personal Housing Plans and work closely with landlords, housing providers, support agencies and other partners to prevent or relieve homelessness. The role requires strong communication, negotiation and case management skills, with a focus on finding practical solutions and achieving positive outcomes for residents. Every case is different, offering a challenging and varied workload where your judgement, empathy and resilience will be key.
