Are you experienced in the recycling, metals, or waste management industry and looking for a stable Monday to Friday role with a market-leading business? Our client in Newmarket is seeking a Yard Operative to join their busy and successful site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service while working with non-ferrous metals and recycling operations.
£13.45 per hour Monday to Friday | 7:00am to 4:00pm
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating and monitoring the Heavy Media Plant (Wet Line) safely and efficiently
- Conducting daily plant checks and inspections
- Processing and sorting non-ferrous metals to quality standards
- Supporting customers delivering recyclable materials and providing excellent service
- Monitoring machinery performance and identifying faults or maintenance requirements
- Assisting with routine cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities
- Completing production records accurately
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials safely around the site
- Following all health, safety, and environmental procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with non-ferrous metals
- Experience in a customer-facing environment
- Experience operating industrial, recycling, production, or processing equipment
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the wider team
- Reliability, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic
