Job Description

About us

Changing Lives is a nationwide charity helping people facing the most challenging of circumstances to make positive change – for good. We believe that everyone deserves a safe home, a rewarding job and a life free from addiction or abuse. We know that given the right support, anyone can change their life for the better.

About the Service – Housing & Homelessness Services

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.

Accommodation to us doesn't just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. It needs to be a welcoming and flourishing environment, offering opportunities for all those we support to feel comfortable and develop. You can make a difference and support people on their journey towards a brighter future. At Changing Lives, we offer a home rather than just a shelter.

About the Job

Welcome to Newcastle Dispersed Accommodation we provide people who are almost ready for independent living with self-contained flats that come fully furnished. We prepare residents for the final stage of managing a tenancy, with advice on paying bills, building good relationships with landlords, and on understanding their rights and responsibilities as a tenant.

Through our partnerships with agencies throughout the city, we help residents settle back into the community with improved self-care and relationship skills. Fundamentally, our aim is to provide holistic housing support that provides people with the confidence to manage all aspects of their tenancy and to live happy, independent lives.

We are committed to delivering high-quality support, and we welcome your expertise and dedication to help us continue making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. You will be given training on all aspects of the role as well as taking part in regular reflective practice and case management reviews with the whole team. Our project operates Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm. You will be on a rota shared with the other Support Workers. Our team is made up of 7 support workers and 1 project lead.
