About the Employer:

The young lady has severe cerebral palsy and is totally reliant on adult support. She is peg fed and recently catheterised due to recurring episodes of urine retention. She is due to have a supra pubic catheter in place in a few weeks. I need someone who has experience of this as I have tried to step away from doing this care. The lady has significant physical difficulties. She relies on using yes and no and communication is tough for her due to her inability to use any communication aids. She uses symbols and a now and next board. The biggest challenge we have is communication. She can get very frustrated; however, there is always a reason for her behaviour it just can take time to find the root! She can struggle with anxiety therefore patience and a calm personality is key. She can sense if someone is anxious! The lady has an amazing sense of humour and is such a happy person. She loves routine, Centre Parcs, caravan holidays, visiting her Nannie, meeting up with old school friends, theatre, cinema, sing-a-long movies. She enjoys facials and head massages and loves to read her diaries through the years. Also loves CBeebies and is particularly fond of Mr Tumble who she’s seen a couple of times. The lady adores her family and weekends at home are special to her. She also loves people watching in Starbucks too! Routine is key!
