Support and assess students during industry placement visits, using occupational expertise to monitor progress, provide guidance, and give fair, accurate feedback against agreed learning goals and placement activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to College Standards – Follow the USP College Code of Conduct and always act in the best interests of the College, promoting positive public and community relationships.
  • Maintain Health & Safety Compliance – Follow all site‑specific health and safety procedures, legislative requirements, and attend required training during workplace activities and visits.
  • Support and Assess Learners – Monitor T Level students and other learners during workplace visits, assessing progress against learning goals and placement requirements.
  • Provide Guidance and Feedback – Offer effective coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to support learner development, achievement, and progression.
  • Manage Learner Caseloads and Portfolios – Maintain an agreed caseload of learners and oversee the development and completion of candidate portfolios.
  • Complete Documentation Accurately – Ensure all assessment records, visit reports, schedules, reviews, and candidate documentation are completed accurately and submitted within required timescales.
  • Conduct Regular Reviews – Carry out workplace‑based 1:1 reviews at every assessment visit and submit future assessment schedules and review paperwork monthly.
  • Communicate Progress and Issues – Keep line managers and internal verifiers informed of learner progress, developments, concerns, and any issues within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain Professional Standards – Build effective relationships with learners, employers, colleagues, and stakeholders while attending standardisation meetings and keeping up to date with industry best practice.
  • Safeguarding and Workload Management – Embed safeguarding responsibilities into everyday practice and effectively prioritise workloads to meet operational targets, visit schedules, and deadlines.
