About the Role

SpaMedica is seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Specialty Registrar (SPR) in Ophthalmology to support its expanding network of clinics across the UK. This is a clinic-based role with no routine operating theatre commitments, providing high-quality ophthalmic assessment and patient care in a modern and patient-focused environment.

The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work either part-time or full-time and must be available to travel to different SpaMedica clinic locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ophthalmology outpatient consultations and assessments.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a range of ophthalmic conditions.
  • Review pre-operative and post-operative patients in accordance with SpaMedica protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to all clinical governance, patient safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver high standards of patient-centred care at all times.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Specialty Registrar (SPR) level experience in Ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).
  • Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth).
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel to different regions across the UK.
  • Availability to work weekdays as required.
  • Available to commence work immediately or at short notice.
