Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician looking for your next opportunity within Further Education? We are currently seeking a skilled and organised Motor Vehicle Technician to join a well-established FE College in North London on a long-term temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality Motor Vehicle programmes, working closely with lecturers and students in practical workshop environments.

The Role: As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for preparing workshops, maintaining vehicles, tools and equipment, supporting practical lessons, and ensuring all learning environments are safe, organised, and fully operational. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide technical support across Motor Vehicle courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare motor vehicle workshops, tools, equipment, and vehicles for practical sessions
  • Support lecturers and learners during practical activities
  • Maintain, service, and organise workshop equipment and training vehicles
  • Ensure workshops comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards
  • Manage stock levels, consumables, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Carry out routine workshop housekeeping and safety checks
  • Support the delivery of Motor Vehicle programmes across the department

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Motor Vehicle Technician or within the automotive industry
  • Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a related discipline
  • Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and workshop practices
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to supporting learners and maintaining high standards
