Deputy Infrastructure Project Manager to join our Facilities Management team at HMP Northumberland, leading the delivery of infrastructure projects that support the safe, secure and effective operation of one of the UK's largest prisons.

Reporting to the Head of Client Infrastructure Projects, you'll play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, lifecycle and capital investment projects worth approximately £1.2 million per annum.

You'll ensure projects are deliveredsafely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, whilesupporting the wider Facilities Management team and deputising for the Head of Client Infrastructure Projects when required.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Site Infrastructure Project Manager, you will

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of infrastructure projects across HMP Northumberland through specialist subcontractors.
  • Support the delivery of lifecycle replacement, capital expenditure and client-led business improvement projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, programme delivery and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Carry out quality inspections of completed project works and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of new infrastructure assets and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are updated in line with SFG20 standards.
  • Monitor and report project progress, risks and performance using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Manage contractor relationships, including onboarding new suppliers through Sodexo's vendor approval process.
  • Support compliance with CDM Regulations, building regulations, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are implemented across all projects.
  • Build effective working relationships with prison stakeholders, subcontractors and the wider Facilities Management team.
  • Deputise for the Head of Client Infrastructure Projects when required.

What We're Looking For

You’ll be anexperienced project professional with a strong background in Facilities Management or construction-related project delivery.

We're looking forsomeone who has

  • Experience managing infrastructure or construction projects within a Facilities Management environment.
  • A strong understanding of CDM Regulations, project governance and statutory compliance.
  • Good knowledge of current UK Building Regulations.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
  • A recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APMPor equivalent.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification, with excellent knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience delivering projects to budget and programme.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and manage project risks.
  • Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • The ability to learn and use CAFM systems (Maximo), Building Management Systems (BMS) and other specialist software.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a complex operational environment.

Experience withinsecure environments, healthcare, education, defence or other 24/7 operationalfacilities would be advantageous but is not essential.
