At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we’re on.
As a Project Control Officer, you'll help keep projects compliant and financially on track. Working closely with Project Managers and project teams, ensure financial processes are followed, provide timely information, and maintain accurate, accessible project records. Support financial reporting to customers, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and meets both internal and external deadlines.
Communication and attention to detail are central to the role. Liaise with customers, suppliers and finance teams to resolve queries, exchange financial information and support informed decision-making across projects. Manage project folders, produce minutes for formal review meetings, maintain management information for colleagues, and oversee requisitions and purchase orders from raising through to receipting and closure.
You'll bring experience of project assurance, quality control and risk management, together with a sound understanding of programme and project management processes. Apply strong attention to detail when working with project financials, ensuring procedures are followed and information is accurate. Analyse data, identify trends and inconsistencies, and produce clear reports that support decision-making and help projects stay on track.
You are organised, motivated and able to work well without close supervision, all while still being a strong communicator who builds good relationships across the team. You’ll be comfortable working with Project Managers, senior stakeholders and wider colleagues, helping keep project processes on track and making sure information is shared clearly and at the right time. APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent would be useful, as would experience in government and large organisations.
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, good holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance.
