Hays are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support an organisation on an urgent interim basis.
This is an initial 8-week assignment, with the possibility of extension, and would suit someone who is immediately available or available at short notice.
The successful candidate must have previous experience working within either a payroll bureau or an outsourced payroll environment.
The organisation uses Cintra as its fully outsourced payroll provider, so experience in a similar outsourced model would be highly advantageous.
- Your new role
- The main duties for the role will include
- Setting up new starters accurately, including processing new starter forms and checking employee information.
- Gathering and consolidating employee hours to support accurate payroll processing.
- Processing leavers, including final payments, accurately and on time.
- Updating employee records for job changes and ensuring pay adjustments are processed correctly.
- Administering statements of payment to employees in a timely manner.
- Responding to payroll queries professionally and accurately.
- Producing reports and carrying out data analysis to support monthly payroll sign-off.
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.
- Processing company sick pay accurately in line with policy and regulations.
- What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for the role will have the following experience
- Proven payroll experience, ideally gained within a payroll bureau or outsourced payroll environment.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of pensions, tax, National Insurance and company benefits.
- UK payroll experience, with Ireland payroll experience highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally across the business.
- A highly organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple payroll tasks and queries at once.
- A team-focused attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- What you'll get in return
