The Integrated Mental Health Team provides clinical and psychological interventions for prisoners with mental health needs in HMP Woodhill. The post holder will work as a member of the mental health team and contribute to delivering high quality, safe and effective Non-Medical Prescribing Services.

The post holder will be responsible for conducting mental health assessments and attending multi-disciplinary team meetings. As an integral member of the Mental Health team, this role involves:

  • Attending team meetings
  • Assessing a variety of mental health presentations
  • Initiating onward referrals

Working autonomously and as part of an MDT, you will provide mental health advice to health professionals across primary and secondary care services to support treatment plans of service users. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and monitoring of high standard nursing care to patients assessed by the team. This will be done in accordance with their clinical needs applying evidence-based practice to achieve positive clinical outcomes. The post holder will adhere to relevant clinical protocols and policies and needs to be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of security and safety consistent with working within a custodial setting.
