The Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) ENT Department currently has a vacancy for a 10 PA Consultant post. This is a new post created to support the increasing local population and demand for ENT services. The post holder will join a team of 5 Consultants and provide general adult and paediatric ENT Surgery with a subspecialty interest in Otology.
The objective of the ENT department is to support MKUH NHS Trust in becoming one of the best health care Trusts in the country. We are focused on providing a high-quality patient experience and being an excellent place to work for all staff, believing that improving patient and staff experience will assist in producing a high-quality, efficient and patient-centred service.
As a medium sized general hospital, we provide a full range of general medical and surgical services, including a busy Emergency Department, Maternity, and Paediatrics. As the population of our city and surrounding areas continues to grow rapidly, we are expanding and enhancing our facilities to meet rising demand and improve access to care for all our communities. We are also proud to offer a growing portfolio of specialist services.
Key Responsibilities:
- A 10 PA job plan with a flexible working structure, supporting professional activities, and a strong commitment to education, research, and clinical governance.
- Contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, audit and service development initiatives, and provide high-quality patient care.
- This post will have a combination of Theatre and Outpatient clinics sessions throughout the job plan.
- The post holder will be included on a 1 in 5 three-tier on-call rota; supporting the non-resident middle-grade and resident doctor. ENT is a 24/7 service. The on call is a category A and you will receive a 5% on call supplement.
- Relevant capabilities should be clearly demonstrated on the list of surgical experience/procedures.
