About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced OHL Project Manager to support the delivery of overhead line projects across the power transmission and distribution sector.
This is a six-month contract with an immediate requirement for someone capable of managing multiple workstreams, coordinating resources and maintaining excellent client relationships.
The successful candidate will take ownership of planning, programming and delivering overhead line works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day planning and delivery of overhead line projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client communications.
- Coordinate network requirements across HV and LV distribution systems to facilitate planned works.
- Programme outages, resource requirements and supply interruptions.
- Coordinate traffic management, temporary generation and access arrangements where required.
- Produce and manage comprehensive work packs, including RAMS, work instructions and safe digging documentation.
- Arrange site surveys and prepare quotations using agreed schedules of rates.
- Ensure labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources are available to meet programme requirements.
- Monitor project performance, programme and health and safety compliance.
- Ensure all commercial documentation and asset records are completed accurately following project completion.
- Maintain compliance with all client and company procedures throughout project delivery.
Experience Required
- Previous experience working as an OHL Project Manager or Project Planner within the power transmission or distribution sector is essential.
- A strong understanding of overhead line construction and maintenance projects.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Knowledge of HV and LV distribution networks and planned outage requirements.
- Experience working in a client-facing environment with responsibility for project performance.
- Excellent organisational, communication and planning skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage projects through to successful completion.
Desirable Qualifications
- City & Guilds Electrical Qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working on National Grid, DNO or IDNO projects.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
