We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Care Officer to join our team at Torestin Care Home.

Key Responsibilities
- To work with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in accordance with the homes policies and procedures.
- Routine duties as directed by, and under the direct supervision of the Officer in Charge. To assume the responsibility of Officer in Charge as directed, by the
- To make decisions based on your seniority within the organisation
- Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet. Assist a senior member of staff who has been assessed as competent with medication administration.
- Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.
- To help train junior members of staff in all aspects of their work in the home.
- Make and change beds; tidy rooms and do light cleaning.
- Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone; greet visitors
- Read and write reports in case notes
- Take part in staff meetings and also in training activities as directed
What we're looking for
- Communication skills are essential
- Previous experience in a care setting is required and to hold a Level 3 NVQ or QCF qualification in Health & Social Care.
- A Level 2 and working towards a Level 3 will also be acceptable
- IT Literate
- Understanding of importance of confidentiality
- Sensitive to the needs of residents, caring, tactful, observant.
