We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for a highly motivated and well organised individual to join the team of Medical Secretaries within Medical Oncology at York Hospital. This varied secretarial role is to support Consultant Medical Oncologists and their teams with communication, administrative and secretarial tasks, whilst also providing support to our patients, assisting with their queries and concerns and engaging with the wider clinical team and other key stakeholders such as GPs.

The main duties will include:

  • Typing of clinics and general correspondence
  • Complex diary management
  • Provision of patient data
  • Dealing with correspondence from patients, GPs and other sources, including the scheduling of appointments

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a minimum of two years recent secretarial/admin experience, proficient typing skills, particularly in audio-typing, and experience of digital dictation. Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
