The Estates Maintenance Department at Bristol Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing skilled tradesperson based in Bristol on a fixed term basis. With a starting salary of £31,952 pro rata, plus overtime and unsocial enhancements, and a great annual leave and pension offer there isn't a better time to consider joining the team!
You’ll join an experienced and dedicated mechanical team, working as part of a larger estate’s workforce of around 100 people. If you’re looking to expand your skills as a Plumber and move into commercial buildings – this is an ideal opportunity for you! We provide an extensive training package to support you in understanding a complex healthcare estate.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of working as a domestic or commercial plumber in any setting
- A City & Guild Mechanical/Plumbing qualification at Level 3 or equivalent
- A desire to work in a large healthcare environment
- Ability to react promptly to day-to-day breakdowns of plumbing and mechanical equipment/assets ensuring response and completion times meet the Trust KPI’s
- Capability to carry out a wide range of mechanical & plumbing repairs
- Undertake routine maintenance (PPM) of equipment/assets ensuring all work is logged using the PDA on the Agility system to meet the Trust’s KPI’s
- Carry out minor installation work
- Physically carry out manual work using safe working practice
- Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to key trade, with minimal supervision
- Become certified as a competent person in a discipline within your skill set
- Pass on knowledge to apprentices and work experience students
- Take part in out of hours on call rota
