Purpose of the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Team in delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across a diverse portfolio of properties.

This is a hands-on role where your work will directly contribute to maintaining high standards, compliance, and safety, ensuring every property is presented at its very best and ready to deliver exceptional guest experience.

The right candidate will be professional, enthusiastic and eager to learn. You will show passion for the industry and continually strive to improve standards.

There will be opportunities for further skills training and qualifications appropriate to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive maintenance tasks, responding promptly and prioritising issues that impact guest experience, safety, or operational continuity.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, ensuring ongoing property upkeep and long-term asset care.
  • Assist with refurbishment and improvement projects, including room and cottage upgrades.
  • Complete and record compliance and regulatory checks, ensuring all properties meet statutory and company requirements.
  • Support fire safety and water hygiene processes, including routine inspections and reporting any risks.
  • Work in line with Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work, taking responsibility for personal and team safety.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and presentation, ensuring all properties remain clean, safe, and guest-ready.
