At The Compleat Food Group, we're looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused HR Advisor to join our team at our Palethorpe's site in Market Drayton on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This role would be ideal for an experienced HR Assistant, HR Coordinator or People Administrator who is ready to take the next step into their first HR Advisor position. Equally, we'd welcome applications from existing HR Advisors looking to broaden their experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll work closely with the Site HR Business Partner, supporting recruitment, employee relations, engagement initiatives and day-to-day people activities across the site.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Recruitment & Talent
  • Lead recruitment activities for hourly paid and factory-based roles.
  • Advertise vacancies, screen candidates and coordinate interviews.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to support workforce planning.
  • Manage site recruitment activity from advertising through to offer stage.
  • Support talent pipelines, apprentices and early career initiatives.
  • Employee Relations
  • Support managers with investigations, absence management, probation reviews and disciplinary processes.
  • Prepare letters, documentation and meeting packs.
  • Take notes during employee relations meetings and consultations.
  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Employee Engagement
  • Be visible across the site and build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Conduct HR walkarounds, welfare interviews and attend team huddles.
  • Support engagement, charity and community initiatives.
  • Maintain site communications including notice boards, TV screens and employee updates.
  • HR Operations & Compliance
  • Maintain HR records, trackers and people data.
  • Complete Right to Work checks accurately.
  • Support audits, worker interviews and agency compliance checks.
  • Assist with SEDEX and ethical audit preparation.
  • Support site compliance activities and HR reporting.
  • Coaching & Development
  • Support managers across the employee lifecycle, including interviews, performance management and absence reviews.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of leadership and development programmes where required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within an HR, Recruitment or People Administration role.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, logistics or another fast-paced industry.
  • Experience recruiting blue-collar or factory-based employees.
  • Exposure to employee relations processes.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or Level 5) or currently working towards one.
