Could you be the difference in someone's toughest days? We're looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Inpatient Unit team at Edinburgh Hospice. This is more than a healthcare role; it's an opportunity to provide expert, person-centred care, comfort and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families. What you will be doing:

  • As a Healthcare Assistant within our Inpatient Unit at Edinburgh Hospice, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to people living with a terminal illness.
  • Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll begin each shift by receiving a comprehensive handover to ensure seamless, high-quality care for every patient.
  • You’ll support patients with personal care, mealtimes and nutritional needs, including assisting with feeding where required, while promoting comfort, dignity and independence at all times.
  • You’ll help patients with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and build meaningful relationships with those in your care and the people important to them.
  • You’ll also play an important part in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment, adhering to the highest standards of infection prevention and control.
  • Every day, you’ll contribute to creating a positive experience for patients and families, ensuring they receive the outstanding care and support they deserve when it matters most.
