Would you like to work for a growing local business, that has the job security of being part of a multi-billion-pound global manufacturer, at their flagship UK site? Due to a recent promotion, they are looking for an electrically biased shift engineer to join their team.

As a Shift Engineer your key role & responsibilities will be:

  • Carry out PPM's, reactive maintenance & continuous improvement projects
  • Industrial electrical fault finding & problem solving, along with minor mechanical repairs
  • Support reliability engineering, looking to make things run more efficiently
  • Working on various production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & control systems
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Use and regularly update the CMMS systems
  • Dealing with industrial equipment, motors, sensors, servo drives, proximity systems, control panels, inverters, contactors, gearboxes, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics

Knowledge, skills & experience needed to be a Shift Engineer:

  • Must be an experienced electrical biased engineer or industrial electrician
  • Level 3 qualified or higher in electrical engineering - apprenticeship trained
  • PLC - electrical fault finding skills
  • Must have worked in fast-paced manufacturing previously
  • Willingness to learn new things and suggest improvements
  • Must be able to read & follow electrical & pneumatic schematics & drawings
  • Team player, but able to work on own initiative when needed
  • Previously have worked on high-speed production, processing & packaging machinery
